A Brief History of the Club
The Club was formed in the 1930’s by the employees of the Luton Vauxhall Motors car plant.
The large canteen made the ideal location for the club which regularly held tournaments.
Since the closure of the Vauxhall Car plant in the late 1990’s the club was forced to relocate
after the canteen was demolished. Soon after the Vauxhall Recreation Centre was opened
and the club moved in.
The Club Today
Despite the decline in the number clubs over the past decade Vauxhall has gone from strength to strength with two junior clubs and a adult beginners club now encouraging players into the league club.
We are a friendly but still competitive club who play at the Venue 360 in Luton, Bedfordshire, on Tuesday nights from 7-10pm, with 4 courts at our disposal.
The leisure centre is felt to be the best in the County, with an excellent sports hall, changing facilities and large on site bar.
New members are welcome all year round, unfortunately we do not accept beginners to the Tuesday club. If you are a beginner or don’t feel up to league level please see the Vauxhall Misfits section.
